Update March 18th

Praise be to God! We meet each Wednesday in The Parlor to fellowship, laugh, pray and share with one another as we work on our shawls, afghans, chemo hats, baby hats, scarves, and other projects. The last several weeks we’ve talked about how we’ve grown in terms of new members. It occurred to me this morning, during Davis’s sermon about being a missional church, how many more lives we are touching with our projects. Thanks to new members, the ideas and energy they’ve brought to the Prayer Shawl Ministry, we offer chemo hats to individuals who lose their hair during chemo therapy, baby hats to MOPS members, and scarves for the Grace bags.

New Baby: As most of you know, Sophia was born on March 17th which was several weeks early. By Wednesday the 25th all of the large blocks for the afghan will be complete. All of the small blocks of the #1 design will be complete and 1 of block #2, 3, and 4 are complete. Please bring your completed blocks and any yarn you have on the 25th.

That leaves three of blocks 2, 3 and 4 to be completed. Please contact me if you have the time to complete any of these blocks so I can arrange to get the correct yarn colors to you. Once these blocks are crocheted, the pieces need to be sewn together and the edging crocheted around the blocks. I will volunteer to assemble the blocks and complete the edging.

The fleece blankets for the boys are done.

Robin’s Granddaughter: Robin has a new granddaughter named Cadence, born on March 17th, weighing 10 lbs., 13 ozs. Robin and her family are in our thoughts and prayers. Children are a blessing from God!

Thank you: My daughter Liz enjoyed meeting everyone Wednesday evening. She thinks I’m blessed to be part of such a wonderful ministry. As she left the meeting, she told me she was going to learn to crochet before she comes back, so she doesn’t have to say she doesn’t know how on her next visit. Thank you for welcoming her!

Lawrenceville Co-Op: Robin reminded us that this Wednesday the Co-Op is in need of personal items such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. Please remember to bring something for the Co-Op.

God is opening more and more doors for us to be His hands and feet to help those in need. He is leading us to interact with other ministries and committees. Let’s keep our minds open to ideas and ways we can help others. We were given a talent to turn fiber into useful items – let’s make the most of it.

Love and blessings,

Beverly
